Fat and all that

Today I decided since I'm kinda bored, that it would be a good idea to go to the mall and look for some clothes. I need some business-casual type stuff for this crazy temp job. I have zero dollars, but I thought that going to look wouldn't make me cry that much.

I tried on some things and came to a few conclusions.

1. Business casual = borderline gross
2. I am a tall girl and it should be acceptable that I'm not a size three, or nine for that matter. Jesus
3. Size ten is hard to find and it really shouldn't be

I hate the mall. The only store I like is Gap. I need lots of bling to buy things there. They hired a guy that doesn't have front teeth. Scary.

Champlain mall sucks the bag. Somebody please fly me to Montreal.

Things to do

-Get a permanent job or two
-Incorporate "off the hook" into daily vocabulary
-Get a tan
-Weigh myself (I think I lost 5 more pounds. YAY)
-Get a hair appointment with Patti in PEI

Did you know that it takes 10 hours before tax of working at the call centre to be able to pay for a cut, colour and style at Picasso's. And that's without the tip! It's way worth it though.

Movin' on Up

At two o'clock today, I got a phone call.
"Hi Amber this is ICT Riverview, we were wondering if you would like to take a temp job."
"Sure."
"Ok. Can you be here for 2:30?"

And like that I got a job and went to work. I work all weekend from 3-12. Crazy. This job is going to lead to a permanent job the first week of February.

To make things crazier, I was sitting beside a guy from England and it turns out that he's my cousin that I've only seen once for two hours when I was 12. He moved to NB in October and got a job at this call centre. He decided to take extra hours today and sat beside me of all people in the call centre. Nuts.

And my bills are going to be paid ON TIME this month. Holy fuck.

Home Sweet Home

Well, I've been home for a total of 25 days. That's longer than I lived home in August. I think my new year's resolution to stay in one place for at least six months is going to work. I've almost made it one and I only have five left to go. I think that once June comes around, I'll have no problem at all staying here until the end of August.

As much as I hate to admit it, summer in PEI rocks. Charlottetown dresses in her finest for all of the tourists and the rest of the province is very pretty. I love the confed centre when it's really busy with lots of stuff to do and see, watching bands play on Victoria Row while having a drink or two at Fishbones is fun, or a coffee at Cafe Diem however you spell it, just can't be topped. I really hate beaches, but laying out in the sand is nice.

Luckily I'll be returning to the island just in time to see her shut down and the miserable weather that brings much boredom roll in. My liver will be well rested though, I'll be reacquainted with my real life loves - Melon's and Joey Kitson.

Amber = très cool

There are only so many webpages that you can go to before the internet gets boring. I remember when having an Internet connection was such a luxury and waiting five minutes to load a website was worth your time. Now high speed is pretty much standard in every home and just another thing to do to pass time. Ripping music is my favorite part. That never gets boring.

Anywho, since my social life is so amazingly busy, I will post my major weekend events because I know that readers everywhere would like to see it. Actually I will post about it incase someone is as bored with the net as I am.

Friday night is movie and junk food night with Jill. It always has been, we spiced it up by doing facials this week. I feel so clean.

Saturday was cleaning day at the Geddes household. I cleaned my room and vaccuumed the living room and swept the kitchen floor. For doing this I got five dollars which was all spent on Coca-Cola Classic. Fuck you Pepsi, the drink for the dirt bags of the world (I only half mean this, I just posted it incase Taylor's surfing). Yep that's right, I only do chores for my parents if they are going to give me money. I am a horrible person living here for free, but they kept telling me that they wanted me home which means to me that there will be no rent. Also, the amount of cleaning that they expect me to do surpases my contribution to the mess. As for getting paid to clean my room....my daddy just loves me.

Later on in the evening my dad went to buy a "six pack". Stupid me forgot that 24 bottles of beer come in a "six pack". His friend Robby showed up later on with a "six pack" of his own. I learned a new card game (200) and drank six beers with my dad and his friend and then we all, including my mom, went down to Riverview's finest establishment, The Fox and Hound, or just The Fox if you're "with it".

Seeing people from highschool wasn't as bad as I had expected, I only hated about 86% of the people in the bar. Pretty good for me. I had some pretty good conversations, all of which were the same.

person - Hey Amber, what have you been up to for the past couple of years
me - Living in PEI
person - oh yeah, are you here visiting
me - not sure, might get a job and stay
person - who are you here with
me - my parents
person - rigggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhtttttt.................well, good talking to ya

Yep, the verdict is in, I AM FUCKING WICKED.

"Nobody goes to Dartmouth to be Trendy"

That's a quote from Matt Mayes.

Dartmouth = Greater Halifax. Halifax is the only place in the maritimes that is 100% full of scenester and unique/artsy type wannabes. Nobody wants to go to Dartmouth to be Trendy, my ass.

2004

Well 2003 is finally over. Not my best year, but with this new one comes a brand new feeling for me - optimism. Something must have happened in my sleep cause I've never been optimistic about anything in my life.

I thought over my resolutions in bed this morning and this is what I've come up with:

1. Try to live in one place for at least six months
2. Learn to save money
3. Pay back some debt
4. Take some sort of art lesson
5. Rather than sitting on the couch watching tv for hours, go outside and walk
6. Play with the kitties more
7.Try really hard to be positive
8. Read lots and lots of books
9.Be more physically active
10.Brush teeth and floss every night before bed
11. Get a wicked tan

Yep so those are my resolutions. If you're wondering what I did last night, and I know you are, I watched tv with my dad. New year's eve and new year's day are my most hated days in the year. Always have been. I had a pretty good time though, watched a lot of history on the Playboy empire.

Happy New Year Everyone!! I wish everyone all the best in 2004.
